Elissa Polansky's IIH Fight

Donation protected
Elissa has been diagnosed with a rare condition called Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH).  Pressure builds up inside the skull for no apparent reason, and can be extremely debilitating.  It causes horrendous headaches, fatigue, weakness, and sometimes blindness.  She’s undergone several tests and first line treatment, which has been ineffective.  Next step: Brain surgery to implant a stent to relieve the pressure - and to repair two stenosis they found.

Our brave Elissa has been managing this mostly by herself in a new state, with a new job that has now ended.  She is not well enough yet for a new job, can’t really afford to postpone the surgery, and - although she has not wanted to ask for help, is now in need of it.

Funds raised will help with medical costs for the surgery and associated recovery - including helping to make up the difference between salary and disability, and pay for caregivers as needed.

Please give what you can andor share far and wide.  We need for Elissa to be able to concentrate on healing, not bills!
