Elizabeth Desjardins NEEDS US NOW!!
On January 8th, a pick up truck crossed over two lanes of traffic on the highway and hit its brakes ultimately cutting off Elizabeth’s car. She had two options. Slam into the back of the truck or swerve to miss it. She swerved to miss the truck with only seconds to decide while driving 60 mph. When she hit her brakes and swerved, she lost control of the car and slammed into a concrete wall multiple times.
The driver of the truck never stopped.
Elizabeth was rushed to the hospital. She suffered serious injuries and went through emergency surgery. During the horrific accident she was thrown into the windshield hitting it several times. She fractured her spine , broke her tibia and fibia , as well as shattered her ankle. Elizabeth was in the Nuero Trauma ICU fore a week due to her spine injuries. Elizabeth has to heal in a neck brace and leg cast for up to six weeks before she can even start taking her next steps on the road to recovery. Doctors aren’t able to say when she can return to back to her job. Elizabeth is now out of work due to her injuries and has depleted her savings. She is at a loss as to how to pay her rent, pay her bills and put food on the table for her children and herself.
The car, as you can see, was totaled.
Being laid off due to COVID last March, Elizabeth sold a majority of her belongings and moved across country to Phoenix. AZ in August. She started a new job and was working so hard to rebuild her life. The vehicle she was borrowing that morning did not have the proper coverage therefore it was not able to help with any medical expenses or cover lost wages. The coverage was also unable to replace the car which was not hers.
I am hoping this campaign can help her and her kids stay afloat until she is able to return to work.
$5000 will hopefully cover her rent, utilities , food, medical expenses etc. As for the car she was using, it was only valued at $1000, any additional funds will go towards the purchase of a replacement vehicle.
I know times are hard for everybody but even the smallest donation will help and it is greatlyappreciated.
