MONTREAL: multimedia concept album

Hi everyone,
For my 6th album, I decided to get more ambitious than ever before. To hear all the whole story, you can watch the video - but in a nutshell, over the past 5 years, I've been creating a multimedia concept album as an ode to my home town of Montreal, and its many, beautiful souls.

Pour mon 6e album, je me suis compltement donnée ... Pour en savoir plus, vous pouvez regardez la vidéo - mais en bref, il s'agit d'un album concept, en un projet multi-média comme hommage a ma ville, Montréal.
The songs were each written after a series of interviews with strangers and unpeeling their stories. I've started the recording, and the film, app and book are well underway - but we still need to finish the album. The 5-piece band (plus some very special secret guests) will be hitting the studio to record the 11 songs that will be on the album. After that, we will be editing, mixing, mastering, and manufacturing the goods in the summer. It's a long process, but the studio is my favourite playground.

Les chansons ont été écrites au cours des 5 dernieres années, suite a une série d'entrevues avec des montréalais au hasard. Je continue avec l'enregistrement musical, et le film, l'appli, et le livre sont bien en cours - mais je dois terminer l'album... enregistrement en studio, mixage, mastering, fabrication. C'est un long processus, mais je ne me sens pas plus chez moi qu'en studio!

I would love nothing more than for you to be part of this;
the whole process has been about working together with people from the very beginning: from interviewing complete strangers for story and song inspiration, to working with a whole new team of Montrealers (artists, videographer, app developers and book designer) right up until now - and you can also be part of bringing this big project into the world.

Think of it as buying your very own album in advance: you donate now, and in return, you get one of the packages of your choice - ranging from an album, to a private concert, to a one-on-one guided historic jazz tour of Montreal (by yours truly) to a beautiful vinyl recording of the album (and even a refurbished vintage stereo set and turntable to play it on).
