Elkhorn Legion turf project

INVESTING IN A COMMUNITY

Elkhorn baseball isn’t just about our high school athletes. It’s about our community, our youth and the future of Elkhorn baseball as a whole. We’re currently trying to raise another $50,000 to install infield turf down at Legion Field. Currently Frerichs Legion Field loses 44% of games yearly and takes 48-72 hours to dry even with additional work put in by players, coaches and parents.

Andrew Vetock is our head of accounting for this project. He will be handling all accounting duties and distributing the funds to the companies helping build the field. He will be responsible for payments and collecting receipts along with ensuring work has been completed. Andrew is connected to this projected personally as his son Malakai plays for the Antlers Varsity team. 

BENEFITS OF FIELD TURF INCLUDE:

· A quality playing surface which can handle 150+ games/year
· Annual Maintenance savings of over $15,000
· Less injuries
· More visitors to the field and community
· Minimal loss of games/practices due to weather
· Usage by Elkhorn community youth teams

Outside of those obvious benefits, this project can show the dedication of the Elkhorn community to providing our athletes both young and old high quality experiences. Currently, there are other schools/communities that have committed to this same initiative. Astro-Turf fields in Nebraska are becoming the solution for programs/communities with similar issues.

With your help we can ensure a bright future for athletes of all ages in the Elkhorn community. We can also provide great experiences for all of our visiting teams that come to compete against Elkhorn Baseball teams and youth programs.
