Help Ella Maria in her fight against leukemia.
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Paul Davis and I'm helping raise funds for my niece, Ella Maria, and her family: Billy, Sarah, Kiah, Ava, and Aiden.
Ella, 10 years old, had been dealing with some odd symptoms just prior to Halloween (2023) including migraines, low energy, and overall aches and pains. After many weeks of ruling things out, blood work indicated that Ella has B-ALL leukemia.
Ella started chemotherapy a day after the diagnosis. The standard treatment for this type of leukemia lasts 2.5 years. However, after the first month of chemo, it was determined that Ella will need a more intensive and immediate treatment including a bone marrow transplant.
On December 4th, Ella started a new chemo drug to prepare her body for the bone marrow transplant. The hope is Ella will head to the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital (Minneapolis) in early January or February for the transplant. After the transplant, she will need to be monitored in the hospital for 4-6 weeks, then stay near the hospital to monitor and address infections and illnesses as her body navigates the new bone marrow. Ella will be in or near the hospital for a minimum of 100 days. This means that she and at least some of the family will not be home in Duluth during this time.
The purpose of this fundraising is to collect funds to help Ella's family as they continue to navigate this challenging time. Funds will help cover medical expenses, aid in transportation and housing costs while in Minneapolis, among other supports.
Thank you for taking the time to read Ella's story and thank you for any donation amount that you are able to give. Your help is greatly appreciated!
Together, we can help make this challenging time for Ella, Billy, Sarah, Kiah, Ava, and Aiden a little more manageable.
