Donation protected
Many of you already know Ellen Sponholz. She has been a nurse / nurse practitioner in the Buffalo area for many years.
In 2014, she had a gran mal seizure in the parking garage after leaving her shift at Buffalo General with a colleague. She was found to have 4 lesions the left side of her brain. Dr Snyder performed a biopsy revealing primary central nervous system lymphoma. After an aggressive 15 weeks of chemotherapy, 2 additional weeks of lymphoma protocol and returned to nursing!!! After nearly a decade of follow ups and scans she was declared in remission.
Unfortunately, she began to have some recurrence of neurological symptoms in December of 2023 and when they didn’t resolve an MRI confirmed her fears, another brain lesion was found. She was taken out of work and is starting treatment with her team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, and oncologists. Current plans are for radiation to shrink the lesion after the biopsy is performed.
Ellen has never hesitated to be there for any of us who have needed her. She is a caring friend, a supportive colleague, and more importantly - a mother, sister, and aunt.
Please help us raise funds to help pay for her chemotherapy copays as she is not able to work during this time. If you can’t afford to donate, she is thrilled to accept your prayers.
