SVASC Animal Shelter Mural - MFA Thesis Project
Donation protected
Overlooked Companions
For my MFA thesis project, I decided to utilize the skills I've learned as an artist and graphic designer to create a fundraising campaign for the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center (SVASC). My goal is to not only raise money for the organization, but also provide more public exposure for them.
In order to give SVASC more exposure within the community, I will be painting an original, large-scale mural on their building. The mural is meant to draw attention to the shelter, while also providing a colorful image to use in their social media. The mural will resemble the digital prototypes below:
In addition to the mural, I have also created a collection of colorful acrylic paintings that emphasize the loving and playful nature of the animals at SVASC (and many other animal shelters). 30% of all profits from these paintings will be directly donated to the shelter! These paintings are on display at Bridgewater College's Bowman Hall, as well as the Shenandoah Valley Art Center. The time-lapse below is of a painting featured in the collection.
Your contributions will go to the following:
- mural supplies (paint, brushes, cleaning supplies, etc.)
- website maintenance (domain name, hosting, design template)
With your help, we can promote animal rescue while also supporting the arts!
