Ellicott City Flood Hippie Shop

Kitty Morgan is a business owner of two companies (Summer of Love and Kitty Morgan Photography) and resident in Old Ellicott City. Her livelihood has been destroyed twice by floods that have devastated the historic town, first on July 30th 2016 and again May 27th 2018. After the 2016 flood, Kitty pulled together all of her resources to reincarnate the local favorite hippie shop Zebop through creating her shop Summer of Love. The 2018 flood has completely demolished her retail business. Along with losing inventory, all of the fixtures were damaged, and her photography business will also suffer as the majority of her headshots and portrait sessions were conducted on Main St. Kitty barely escaped with her life after being in her shop, trying to save it. In the last moments before the biggest flood surge arrived, Kitty was pulled into the upstairs apartment that was next to her store after she had been screaming for her life. Kitty has lost everything connected to her shop, Summer of Love, washed away by the flood rapids. She is currently struggling to make ends meet and needs assistance to get back on her feet.
