Ellie's future medical costs

Formalities first. My name is Sarah Streelman, and I am a close family friend to the Motts. After learning that, despite good insurance, they will be responsible for 20% of the medical bills for the brain surgery Ellie has on 7/26, and anything needed after, I thought a gofundme was absolutely necessary. So if you're wondering how and where the funds will be distributed, some examples of expenses already incurred are: $490 for PT, $29 for the steroid to reduce brain swelling, and every MRI and CT scan she has, comes in at a hefty $250 copay for each. She's had one of each, with at least one more MRI scheduled post-op. Friends and loved ones, we're at $1269 and she hasn't even been admitted for surgery yet. After which, every outpatient specialist visit is $50, plus the fees for Anesthesia, Radiology, Pathology, etc.
But let's not forget that Ellie is a 19 year old college student at CMU. So she's just past the qualification for specialized medicaid for children. She had to resign from her summer job because she needs surgery. She's still planning on moving back to campus at the end of August, which means more out of pocket for this lovely lady to eat, drive, and enjoy social functions, even if it's just to the local coffee shop. Due to restrictions after surgery, she may not be able to keep the job she had lined up for fall. Ellie has the same insatiable work ethic as her parents, and having this taken away from her will not come easily. My point is this friends, whether you can give $5 to cover her favorite coffee drink, or $45 to cover a round trip of gas, or somewhere in between, EVERYTHING is appreciated. Thank you in advance for sticking with me to read this to the end. It may or may not have been written through tear drenched eyes. Because, well, this sucks. My goal though, is to make it suck a little less for them. I hope that it can be your goal as well.
