Ellie's charity skydive for Papyrus

Update: Thank you so much to everyone who has donated already. I’m sorry I had to postpone the original date, but this has given an opportunity for others to join… I’m very excited to say that my nearly 80-year-old grandma Judy Gibson is going to do the

 jump with me. Although my family is a bit nervous about her doing it this is something she has always wanted to do. My boyfriend Findlay Maule is also going to be joining me on my jump, I’m so grateful that 2 of my favourite people will be supporting me on this opportunity. The jump is on the 7th of June.

I am doing a charity skydive on the 7th of June for the charity Papyrus.

Papyrus is the national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide in the UK.

I’m passionate about this cause and charity because these past few years I’ve massively struggled with my mental health, leading to being hospitalised In October 2021. I absolutely believed that I would never get better and that everyone would be better off without me. Somehow I gradually got better with the right treatment and support from my boyfriend, friends and family. I want everything I’ve been through to be worth something and show people that even if depression convinces you that you will never get better, life has a way of working itself out. One day your future self is going to be so proud and thankful you stayed to live another day. I want to raise money for this charity so more young people can receive the support they deserve. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK. This charity provides support to young people in crisis and strives towards a society where young people aren’t ashamed to speak openly about suicide.
