Ellie’s Helmet Therapy

My name is Emily and I have put together this fundraiser for my daughter, Ellie.

Ellie has what is formally called plagiocephaly and brachycephaly with associated cranial vault and skull based asymmetries. This has caused ear misalignment and increased posterior head height.

After being formally evaluated, it was determined by medical professionals that she would need to move forward with what is called DOC Band Treatment - otherwise seen as those cute little helmets you’ll find on some children.

Because my insurance does not cover this kind of treatment, we are left with no option but to pay it out of pocket.

Ellie is almost 2 weeks away from being 5 months and the optimal window of treatment for helmet therapy is 4-6 months. We are creeping up on the end of that timeline. Head and brain growth in babies develops 80% between 4 and 6 months, so treatment as soon as possible is crucial.
