Hi, my name is Elliot! I’m a trans guy and 18 years old. I’ve been out for 3 years and, since coming to uni and truly living as myself, have decided I want to start testosterone. Unfortunately, the waiting lists for trans healthcare on the NHS are years long, and I would likely not be able to access hormones until at least the age of 21, but very possibly longer.
This healthcare would allow me to be truly comfortable in who I am and how I present to the world. I have estimated the first year on testosterone with GenderGP, a private clinic, to be around £1100 for a year, including start-up funds. I’m aiming for £500 to help get me started, and any donation would be so massively appreciated to help me achieve this goal.
The UK public’s opinion on trans people is pretty awful at the moment, and the government are only working to make it harder for us to access this sort of care. So, as I say, any help would be appreciated so much.
