Elliott's L3Harris ATPL Commercial Pilot Training

The aim of this fund raising is to help towards financing the costs of Commercial Pilot training for Elliott Gibson. He started his ATPL training with L3Harris at the beginning of September 2024. He is based in Crawley until about March 2025, after which he will spend a few months in Florida training in small aircraft. On returning to the UK later in 2025 Elliott will complete his training with L3Harris and commence his Airbus type Rating.

The total cost of the course is more than £ 100,000 and so any money raised will be a great help.

From Dream to Reality

Elliott has dreamed of becoming a commercial pilot since he was 5 years old. His passion for flying was influenced by growing up in the British Virgin Islands and flying frequently. At the age of 5 he was introduced to a basic flight simulator game and soon afterwards held a conversation with the flight crew of a local airline about takeoff types! From then on achieving his dream has been Elliott’s goal, shaping his interests and education.

Elliott joined the Royal Air Force Combined Cadet Force in 2020 and has had the opportunity to fly several times at RAF Cosford. Additional training experience has included some Private Pilot Licence lessons and training flights at Oxford Airport. This included circuits for take-off and landing practice, with a perfect landing on the second try. Elliott completed several of the modules in a couple of hours, gaining a reputation among the instructors as “Being an Ace pilot”.

Elliott has taught himself to fly on his two flight simulators with over 600 hours of online flying, primarily in the Airbus A320. In 2021 he created a YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/c/BviSimPilot . One of the videos includes the Oxford
