Elli's Gender Affirming Surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Elli, and I'm a 20-year-old studying acting at university. I am transgender, and I am hoping to raise some money to afford gender affirming surgery. I currently work part-time in addition to my full-time studies to afford HRT, but I hope to get surgery one day.
Unfortunately, I have to go private, as NHS wait times would leave me 7 plus years just to have basic treatment. The surgeries I am funding for would not only help boost my self-image but also greatly improve my mental health.
It is a well-documented fact that trans people do not have access to the healthcare that they need, and this can have a drastic impact on their mental health, hence why private healthcare is a choice many have to make. However, the high costs of these treatments can have a detrimental financial effect on transgender individuals.
Therefore, it is as a last resort that I ask for donations. These will go towards two gender affirming surgeries to correct the body, of which I do not belong in.
Any amount over my goal (or any amount that isn't used) will go towards charities that help individuals like myself who do not have access to this much-needed healthcare.
Any amount would be deeply appreciated, and if you cannot donate, I ask you to please share this.
Until the issue of an underfunded NHS is resolved, this will be a norm for so many transgender individuals, and this will not be taken for granted. I do believe this change is necessary, but until then, this is what we have to do to survive.
Many thanks,
