Elli's life is leaking coolant

Hiya. I know this is bad. I know I should have my ducks in a row by now, but... they're not.

Due to the housing crisis in Canada, BC, I ended up staying with friends in Alabama. But now I have to get home. Once in Canada, I'll still pseudo-homeless, as I've managed to rent out an RV up there for one month (for $3,600 CAD).

My hope is to find a more appropriate (and affordable) home in that time. But here's the deal. My girlfriend and I are driving back to Canada (4-5 day trip), so I took her car in to fix a leaky coolant. They charged me $772 USD to fix it.

It was more than I can afford, but hey... the car has to be working if I wanna get home. It wasn't long before we discovered that the coolant was still leaking. We called them up, brought it back in, and was told that the "for realsies, this time we mean it" coolant repair would cost another $1,406 USD.

I don't want to accuse the mechanics of being dishonest or scammy. If they are, there's nothing I can really do. All I know, is that I don't have that money, and as a Canadian citizen, I legally have to leave the US and return home.

So... I'm sheepishly asking for some help.
