ELMO'S HOUSE ARTIST RESIDENCY

Donation protected
Elmo's House Artist Residency is a Contemporary Art project designed to connect Philippines, Canada and the rest of the world through the sharing of ideas and creative resources. Amidst a tropical location and distinct cultural history, It’s the first artist residency in this region. With the goal of fostering cultural exchange and dialogue with lasting impact between local residents and visiting artists, particpiants are encouraged to develop projects that engage the community while utilizing the surrounding geography.

Elmo’s House Artist Residency opened its doors on February 2017. Over the last six months, the residency has welcomed more than a dozen artists, from Canada, US and Australia.

With patrons’ assistance through this campaign, we strive to achieve the following for our 2018 programming:
• major plumbing repairs
• a salary to employ local staff to facilitate and maintain Elmo’s House mandates
• assisting artists with high cost of travel and the shipping of their works
• tools, supplies and labour to build a fully equipped wood shop
• providing artists with a stipend
• developing community outreach initiatives
