With heavy hearts, we share the heartbreaking loss of Elna Nyongesa, who was suddenly taken from us on November 11, 2023. Elna, our shining star, was a student at the New Jersey Institute of Technology who tragically died after falling from the parking deck at her school, leaving behind a devastated family and community seeking answers.

At 19 years old, Elna was a beacon of positivity and happiness for her community. She was involved in numerous organizations that aimed to improve the community through volunteering, fundraising, etc, while ensuring the well-being of those around her. Elna was always full of life and love for her friends and family. She left a significant impression on everyone she met. Her passing is not just a personal loss but a profound loss to our entire community.

Today, we turn to you for support. This sudden and unexpected loss brings not only emotional turmoil to our family but also financial strain as we grapple with the costs of laying her to rest, as well as acquiring the resources to find the answers to this sudden and unexplained tragedy.

Elna's memorial service date will be 12/15/2023. Her final resting place will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield, NJ.
