ALK Positive lung cancer-In memory of Elnaz "Ellie" Anzalchi
We are raising funds to benefit ALK Positive Australia Inc., a non-profit co-founded by our beloved Elnaz, whom we lost to this cancer in October 2024. Ellie’s vision, along with a group of caregivers and family members, was to fund research to identify causes for ALK gene mutation and ways to inhibit its progress.
Ellie was full of life and made life so much better for those around her. She worked on her projects passionately. Raising awareness and funds for ALK+ lung cancer was a project Ellie cared for greatly. Your kind donations will keep her passion and vision alive and help make the road brighter for all the other patients across the globe.
ALK-positive lung cancer is a rare subtype of non-small cell lung cancer that disproportionately affects women, individuals under 50, and nonsmokers (https://massivebio.com/alk-positive-lung-cancer/). It accounts for approximately 72,000 new cases and 64,000 deaths worldwide each year. This cancer type is underfunded and under-researched; the few ongoing clinical trials still fail for many patients, and there is a constant need for further research to advance the treatment for those who may develop drug resistance along the way.
ALK Positive Australia Inc. is a charity founded and run by ALK Positive patients and caregivers to support other patients through funding research and providing education. All donations in Australia are tax deductible. For more information, please visit: https://alkpositive.org.au
