Elphaba Needs Your Help: Our Family Dog and Support Animal

Hi everyone. Elphaba is suddenly very sick. She’s my partner’s dog and best friend over the last 10 years. I’ve been lucky enough to be her mom for the last 5 years and blessed to have her licensed as my emotional support animal.

Starting recently, she’s been lethargic, won’t eat, won’t get out of bed, and is visibly sad and uncomfortable. We are starting a series of vet visits, tests, and treatments that are going to be very expensive. We’ve completed bloodwork and X-rays which totaled $900. Next step is to go to radiology which will be another $600 since she might have a mass on her intestines.

We recently bought our first home, which makes money extremely tight. It’s not a home if Elphaba isn’t in it, so we would be eternally grateful for any help we could get to keep our girl healthy and happy.

If you’ve met her, you know she is the sweetest and most loving girl. She loves to snuggle, go on sniffing walks, solve her treat puzzles, and play hide and seek. Elphaba goes absolutely feral for peanut butter, pumpkin, and her doggy cookies. I’ve never met a more empathetic dog in my life. If you’re sad, she’s right next to you with her paw holding your leg and resting her head on you. She stares so deeply into your eyes to tell you that she loves you.
