Swing into Action is sponsoring it's 2nd Annual Celebrity Bartender Contest at Blue Canyon Restaurant on Thursday, September 10th to continue the work we have been doing in the extremely poor community of Teotepeque El Salvador.
In continuing with our goal to make education a priority, we are dedicating this year's proceeds to an Adult Literacy Program that we will be starting for the very first time. During our mission trip to El Salvador on July 24th we will be meeting with community officials, teachers and principals to help eradicate illiteracy in this community. Every adult will have the opportunity to obtain their high school diploma.
We are bringing a teacher from Twinsburg High School who will be spearheading the project and seeing it through to completion. In addition, we are working with another group to remodel an existing youth center in order to hold the necessary classes for this program. Proceeds will go to pay for the remodel construction 2 teacher's annual salaries.
