Elsie’s Eye Army

Hi! I’m Elsie Steinbach!


At 4 months old I was diagnosed with Optic Nerve Hypolasia (ONH) meaning my optic nerve never fully developed then at 5 months old I was registered as severely sight impairment (I’m blind).. at the moment there is no cure for me but me, my mummy & daddy are on a mission! We’re going to help find mine and many other visually impaired lives! & We are going to do lots of fundraising events to raise money to help Moorefeilds Eye hospital to their research team! More research... the closer we are to find a cure!




Elsie's eye army is raising awareness to "Beating Blindness" sadly like I said there is no cure for my optic nerve. But we beat blindness in another way.. we will not let it effect my life! We want to make the world more aware of people who are living with little to no sight. As sadly the world is quite oblivious to this. This way, it will help mine and others lives soo much easier for everyday life.

Including Braille, Braille is a way of written language for visually impaired. Sadly... co-op is the only company who have Braille on their products! We would like Braille to be on all products.. if co-op can, surely Asda & mr Kipling can! We currently also have a petition going for this.. hopefully Boris will hear us and help!



Also we would love to achieve Braille to be known throughout school! So all children know and grow up being able to help visually impaired! Braille is amazing if you know it, but if you don't it's like a new foreign language! So Elsie knowing Braille, will only help Elsie if others know it.. if not they will not be able to understand!


So the money we are trying to raise.. is going towards all this! To gaining lots of awareness & help make the world adapt a little to help us!


We know our goal is high but to be honest, there is no limit!! Hopefully the more we raise, the more we can help me and other visually impaired!


Me, mummy & daddy are not giving up until we change the world



So please any spare penny’s will help us get that one step closer to find a cure! We will all be more great full than you can possibly ever imagine!!!
