Emmanuel Chavez- Family Donation

Donation protected

With a heavy heart and extreme sadness, we announce the passing of Emmanuel Chavez, who was taken from us on Monday, July 11th, 2022. Unfortunately, Emmanuel, who innocently went to grab something he had forgotten in his car, became a victim of a hit and run. The accident was heard by neighbors and his wife, who all frantically ran outside to help Emmanuel. While his wife lay next to him in the street holding her husband as emergency personnel arrived, she could be heard screaming, crying, and desperate to keep her husband alive. Shortly afterward, Emmanuel was stripped from his wife's arms and brought to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Emmanuel was a hardworking, loving, and charismatic individual whose life was cut far too short at only 30 years old, reminding us how unfair a short life can truly be. He leaves behind his wife, 2 stepsons, and a 3-year-old daughter.

Emmanuel and Laura were recently married and just purchased a new home together. They were both excited to move into their forever home with their children. Laura remembers the day they closed on the house on June 29th, 2022 and how excited she and Emmanuel were. They were excited to paint the walls together and make memories that would last a lifetime. Unfortunately, this unfortunate and tragic incident happened only ten days after moving into their new home. Now, the everyday life stresses they would have battled together are being fought by a widowed mother.

Laura expressed how she will have to manage daily finances for her and her family and plans on getting a second job. Laura is strong, determined and genuinely a compassionate individual who is well known in her community as she cared for many as a healthcare worker. This passing was utterly unexpected. Any support in assisting this family is immensely appreciated. The family over at Friendly's Auto and Body in Long Beach, NY, and I are raising money to help cover mortgage payments and other unforeseen charges Laura may experience in the coming months/year.

We would also like to take the time and recognize and thank a few integral team players:

1) Christopher Jordan, who owns Christopher T. Jordan Funeral Home in Island Park. He has truly played an integral part in helping to organize the memorial services with the family in such a short period, and there are no words to express how appreciative we all are.

2) Jean Leo, a close family friend who set up another gofundme page for Laura at: https://gofund.me/efa81f19; has pledged to give all proceeds to the same causes listed here.

3) Tara Burn & Kelly Fonseca, who have both helped coordinate and set up a page at: https://takethemameal.com/meals.php?t=ENFP1460&fbclid=IwAR1qdTe8ojDY0_5DVXfKE49DqIxc3sW_txmf1gamrPJXOW76W6w_ikxuHmg
to help the family with any food donations.

We have three funds going in hopes of reaching out to a more extensive network and combining all of our efforts toward one cause.

UPDATE: They have also caught the suspect thanks to a neighbor who provided video captured from a ring doorbell camera! Although this does not bring Emmanuel back, at least justice has prevailed.
