Emanuel Fair-Hope after Injustice, Suspect Podcast

Donation protected

After listening to the podcast by Matthew Shaer titled Suspect and learning about Emanuel Fair and what he has gone through at the hands of our judicial system, I felt compelled to donate to his future and to try, in some small way, to help him move forward when so much  has been taken from him. I was shocked that there had not been a GoFundMe set up for him yet, so here we are.

A little about Emanuel Fair: he spent 9 years in jail for a crime he did not commit "proclaiming his innocence through two trials, numerous motions, and drawn out judicial delays. It was the culmination of a long and tortured relationship with the criminal justice system." (Amanda Knox and Christopher Robinson's article is listed below"). He lost 9 years of his life simply waiting for a chance to prove his innocence.

He has had nearly a decade taken from him and is now trying to rebuild his life.

Having worked with at-risk youth for many years, I fully understand how our judicial systems are set up to unfairly target people of color and I feel a lot of compassion for Emanuel. Not only because of the case and trial, but for the childhood he experienced. A mother who struggled with addiction, instability and foster care. I also experienced these things as a child, and I fully understand how difficult it is to create a healthy, stable life when what you have been shown is far from that. It can be nearly impossible. I believe Emanuel has a chance to build a new life, but funds to help with therapy, rent and college courses would go a long way in giving him the stability he needs to really start dreaming and working toward a new future.

Thank you for your compassion, your time and your kindness to another human you have never even met.

Our collective compassion can make a huge difference in Emanuel's life! All funds will go directly to Emanuel.
