Emegency Fund for Food & Scooter Repairs
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sophia. I am a 23 year old queer & autistic trans woman, who just moved out of her parent's home. I am currently waiting for my food stamps to go through but I am currently out of food and out of money. Recently had an electric scooter crash, which left me unable to walk long distances. I was relying on this electric scooter as my main mode of transportation and to do Uber Eats to get cash while I wait for my first paycheck. I am about to start working at this new job, working with autistic children, but there has been issues with on-boarding and I don't know when I will start for sure, much less when I will get payed.
The crash left me with a broken front fork and needing a new full face helmet, as I landed on my head and scraped along with helmet. Thankfully the helmet saved me from a major injury, leaving me only with a minor concussion.
The repair shop quoted me a $109 dollar diagnostic fee, and will not tell me how much it will cost to repair, but I am assuming around $400 dollars.
I am also a recovering addict, and this scooter was what I used to get to my recovery meetings everyday, and to get to my IOP sobriety program.
As mentioned before, I am starting a new job soon, but they keep delaying the onboarding day, and getting there takes an hour and a half by bus, but only 20 minutes by electric scooter. I have my IOP program right before work so I don't know how I am going to make it work.
The money will be used for buying food and repairing my electric scooter. I will be buying cheap calories to maximize the most amount of food I can get with the little I receive. After buying groceries, I will use what is left to repair my scooter. If any is left, I will then use that money to buy a new full face helmet.
Thank you so much for reading this far!
