Our Vision

With powerful harmony, Emergence Ensemble blends avant-pop, neo-soul, and musical theatre to challenge our cognitive dissonance and invite our collective becoming. In this violent era of our history, Emergence is a balm for the soul, an invitation to decompose the systems of hierarchy within and without.

Comprised of Mo Eutazia, Victoria McBride, Colleen McCaughey, Charde Young, and Molly Andrews-Hinders, Emergence Ensemble seeks to bring sustaining life and energy to artists, community tenders, and change makers here in Cleveland and beyond.

More About Us

The shape of Emergence Ensemble has evolved over the course of 6 years. We created a musical (titled Emergence) that presented as part of Rhinofest at Prop Thtr in Chicago (feb 2020), Test Flight at Cleveland Public Theatre (mar 2019) Ohio City Street Festival (2019), Station Hope (2017), and numerous music venues in Cleveland. In 2020, we planned to share our work more broadly, connecting with other artists and touring our work, but the pandemic shutdown prevented us from doing so.

Now moving into 2024, our songs are still as relevant and resonant as ever before. We want to record our music so that we can distribute our song and message more widely, and to give us opportunity to build audience, seek out performances, and build more collaborations – with artists and organizers alike. We are doing a grassroots campaign to build funds for our first album as a group.

We hope to record in summer of 2024.
