Sanad-Initative: Emergency Aid for Palestinians in Gaza and Cairo
Sanad means "support" in Arabic. The Sanad-Initative is a fully volunteer-led grassroute organization that is commited to supporting displaced Palestinians in Gaza and Cairo through other displaced Palestinians. Being run by people who are affected themselves, Sanad intimately understands the unique challenges displaced Palestinians have to face. Sanad's work aims for addressing the most pressing needs and therefore constantly adapts it's proceedings to current events. A 100% of all donations go directly into the core mission of the Initiative. The scope of Sanad's activities and reach depends on the amount of money that can be raised.
Here a few words of the funder of the Initiative:
Hello, I am Amal. I’m a Social Development graduate and Youth Activist. I'm passionate about defending youth's and women's rights issues. Stranded in Cairo myself, I'm now dedicating my time to support other displaced Palestinians in Gaza as well as those stranded here in Cairo.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza needs urgent adressing. We are trying to provide cooked meals to the families in shelters and bread to the families in the tent communities of Rafah. We have the capacity to provide 3000 cooked meals and 1000 loaves of bread daily if we have enough funds.
In Cairo, many families are in dire need as well. Cut from their community and all possibilities to generate financial ressources, there is an urgent need of financial help for food, rent, medical treatment, clothing and other basic needs. Sanad also runs emotional support groups in Cairo. These sessions allow us to connect and support each other emotionally and to create solutions in the most urgent situations as a community.
