Emergency aid for Puerto Rico
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Daniela Henao, I’m a third year medical school student at Ponce Health Sciences University and Vice President of the CT Interest Group and President and Co-founder of the White Coats for Black Lives chapter at my university. On behalf of the students at PHSU and the Puerto Rican community, I reach out for your help.
Currently, Puerto Rico is experiencing the most catastrophic natural disaster within the past five years- A little under five years ago, Puerto Rico experienced the wrath of Hurricane Maria, a phenomenon that left hundreds if not thousands unsheltered- Today, we are re-living a similar nightmare. Close to a million and a half of homes are rendered powerless, thousands have lost their homes due to floods, several families have lost their loved ones and others have lost their means to work- restaurants, stores and their transportation to get by. I ask that you please find it in your heart to donate to a community that needs you, that needs us to come together. There’s a saying in spanish that says “La union hace la fuerza” in english “Unity is power” and I couldn’t agree more.
All funds will be used to provide for those in need whether it be groceries, medicine or hygiene products.
As medical students, were relying on all donations possible to make this happen.
