Emergency Aid: Help Musallam Get Out of Gaza!
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and community members,
My name is Elicia. I met Musallam Abukhalil in 2013 through a program I was involved with at Penn State, Al Fakhoora (Education Above All) Virtual Majlis, and got to know him over several years as we spoke to him and his fellow students about once a week. At the time, Musallam was a medical student who shared with us all about his life in Gaza and his dreams of peace and freedom.
Musallam is the first and only physician from the Abukhalil family. He has several years of clinical practice as a hospitalist, an emergency room physician, and a primary care physician. He is an Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certified physician, ECFMG is a US-authorized agency that certifies the medical credentials of non-US trained physicians for clinical practice and training in the US.
Throughout the current disaster, he has been working as a primary care physician in UN shelter housing thousands of internally displaced people, seeing close to 150 everyday.
Now, Having faced three months of bombardment and being forced to evacuate to Rafah with his family. We are launching this fundraiser to aid Musallam with getting the necessary paperwork done so that he may cross the Rafah border and ensure safe passage to Egypt. This requires $10,000 per adult, and so we are asking for your help.
- We would like to raise $11,000 to get Musallam out of Gaza. $10,000 will go to getting him released safely.
- $1000 will go to assist with transaction fees/GoFundMe fees.
Please help us get Musallam out safely
Thank you.
