EMERGENCY: Animal Sanctuary Damaged by Ice Storm!

Tax deductible
Over the last seven days, the animal sanctuary was battered by an ice storm, followed by freezing rain and sleet, and finally snow. We lost all electricity, heat, and water for days and became trapped by falling trees.  We are now (hopefully) in the  aftermath and starting to pick up the pieces and tackle the destruction.  The sheer weight of the ice and snow has broken many trees and branches are down all over the farm, obstructing roadways, and the path to the hay barn.  A very tall tree has fallen, narrowly missing the duck barn and damaging the duck fence in two places, as well as falling all over the garden. The ducks are currently unable to go into two of their fields, or safely pass from their barn.

The animals were all safely tucked inside as the storm raged, dumping a layer of slick ice, several inches of snow, and broken branches outside.  In addition, we faced the coldest temperatures of the year, so the animals stayed indoors all day and night, and now the chicken, duck, pig, dog and cat barns desperately need a thorough cleaning reset, and new fresh bedding.

Please, if you are able to, we need your assistance more than ever.

Please consider donating to help with the clean up.  We will need to haul away logs, repair fences and gates, clear the main drive to the farm sanctuary, and replace all the bedding in the barns.

Wild Earth Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that rescues animals from abuse, abandonment, and neglect. The sanctuary offers life-long care to dozens of animals, including dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, ducks, and turtles.  Many of the animals are special needs and many are victims of the cruel industrial agriculture system. In addition, Wild Earth is a sustainable living education farm, where we teach eco-friendly living skills.
