Emergency Appeal on Behalf of Depaul Ukraine

Tax deductible
Dear Friends:

I am writing you today with a special request. Please help stem the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Ukraine.

Depaul USA is part of an international movement to end homelessness. Our sister organization, Depaul Ukraine, has been at work in that country since 2007 providing services to those living on the streets, confined to jails, abandoned in hospitals, and fleeing the conflict in the eastern regions of the country.

The humanitarian disaster now unfolding in the wake of the Russian invasion is unprecedented in the last 80 years. Amazingly, despite the bombings and assaults, Depaul Ukraine is still providing services in Kharkiv, Odessa and Kiev. Father Vitaliy Novak CM, Chair of the Trustees for Depaul Ukraine, currently in Odessa recently told us, “There are missile strikes, one after the other, the roads are dangerous. Overnight they are predicting heavier fighting. In Kharkiv we are seeing tanks on our roads and there is regular shelling. Many people are sheltering in the metro stations underground. We are shocked and desperate... But we stand firm, keeping our homeless shelters and services going, taking it in turns to visit and staying safe so we can keep supporting people. It is more important than ever before. We will not leave until we have no other choice. Homeless people here have no information– we are a lifeline to them, providing warmth, shelter, food and protection.”

Please consider making a gift to support this extraordinary humanitarian work in Ukraine. We have setup this special GoFundMe page to support these efforts. If you do not feel comfortable donating online, you may send a check via mail to: Depaul USA P.O. Box 756 Chicago, IL 60690. Please mark "Ukraine Fund" in the memo line so that the gift is directed accordingly.  100% of all donations will be sent to Depaul International in London which will then transfer the funds to Ukraine.

Thank you for your support. Please keep the people of Ukraine in your prayers.

Sincerely,

Charles W. Levesque
