Emergency Assistance Needed for Angela Lindsey-Nunn and Noah

Thank you for taking the time to read our story. My name is Noah, and I have been helping to take care of my Mother, Angela, who has Temporal Lobe Epilepsy.
Due to her condition rapidly progressing over the last year, we are at immediate risk of losing our home and are in need of urgent financial assistance to prevent eviction, pay past due rent and bills, assist in relocation costs, and help to pay for medication and her Doctor’s care, so that she can have access to life-saving surgery to treat her epilepsy.
Angela has been living with Temporal Lobe Epilepsy her entire life, which has continued to progress to the point of her needing brain surgery to preserve her memory and ability to walk and to help stop the seizures that can take her life. Earlier this year, her Doctor informed her that without the surgery, her memory and mobility worsen as well as the chance for Sudden Unexplained Death from Epilepsy (SUDEP) increases with every seizure that she has, which is sometimes hundreds each day. Her condition has become worse over the years because there is no cure. She lost her insurance and access to Social Security and as a result, has been paying out of pocket costs for medication and doctor’s appointments while fighting to get her insurance back. Because she has already experienced a SUDEP attack and almost lost her life when her heart stopped twice and had to be resuscitated and flown to Kansas City, the likelihood of it reoccurring while her memory and mobility decline increases every day. After she lost her insurance and her condition has worsened, I have been providing more and more care for her.
While she continues to work towards finishing her degree and research project that helps people heal from trauma, she has also worked and taught in the Lawrence, KS community over the past twenty years. In addition, she has a storied history of community and volunteer work for many different organizations and agencies serving people who were experiencing homelessness, working with re-entry programs for people rebuilding their lives after being incarcerated, and advocating for and working with victims of domestic violence and children who have disabilities. But, as her seizures have worsened, she has been unable to get back to work.
While we’re waiting for the insurance to be approved and after trying on our own for so many years, because Angela’s health condition has gotten worse so rapidly over the past year, we’re now barely able to afford to keep the utilities on, and are now months behind on rent, and currently facing eviction.
Any amount you’re willing to contribute is greatly appreciated and even if you aren’t able to contribute at this time, please pray for us and consider sharing our story.
