Emergency back surgery for Steven Swigart

Hi, my name is Alex Storer, daughter of Steven Swigart. I am starting a fundraiser to help alleviate the financial burden of emergency surgery & physical therapy.

On June 17th, 2023, my dad suffered a devastating 20 foot fall out of a tree. He was cutting down a dead tree in his front yard.

With a running chainsaw in hand, a tree branch kicked back and knocked him out of the tree to the ground below, crushing & fracturing his spine in several places. Thankfully, my mom was able to find him quickly & call 911. An ambulance took him to Kettering Hospital where he received an emergency 5 hour back surgery in which they installed 2 rods & 10 screws. Doctors say he had a very long road to recovery full of intensive physical therapy.

Steve has worked in excavation since the age of 14. His job is extremely physical & unfortunately, this fall will make it impossible to go back to work. Those who know Steve, know he is the hardest worker in the world. He is the sole-provider for himself & wife, Bridgette Swigart so how they will make money moving forward is unclear to them.

Please help us relieve the crushing stress that comes with an injury of this magnitude. I want my dad’s only focus to be on walking again & getting back playing with his grandkids.
