Emergency Boiler Replacement (heat)
Donation protected
There is no amount of planning that can be done to handle an “Emergency”, but that is what I have on my hands right now. On March 13th, I had my furnace technician come out to replace a combustion chamber on my forced hot water, oil fired boiler. Worst case scenario was realized as he found that the stainless steel cabinet surrounding the combustion chamber had failed and had a hole in it, which rendered my boiler inoperable and condemned by building code, I have been without my primary heat source since. The worst time for a boiler to go down is during the winter when the temperatures are the coldest. I do not have insurance to cover this type of breakdown and of course home owners insurance does not cover this type of loss. So I come with hat in hand and humbly ask for help from my family and friends. I need a new boiler. The most economically one that I have found is $4500 installed. I have been to three financial institutions, including my own credit union, and have been told that my debt to income ratio is too high and have been declined by all three. I need help. I currently have six (6) portable electric heaters to keep the house at a comfortable 68 degrees and keep the water lines from freezing in my home but, my electric bill will be through the roof. The sooner I can get this replaced the better, financially. As most of you that know me, I’m not the kind to come begging for help, but I’m at a loss of what else to do. If anyone can lend a hand, it would be greatly appreciated, and you know that I would love your generosity. I really would like to get my primary heat running again and get of the portable heaters. Any funds donated above the $4500 needed will be applied to my electric bill to cover the increased cost due to use of electric heaters.
