EMERGENCY BRAIN SURGERY - AJ JOHNNY
AJ JOHNNY
PITI GUAM USA
To anyone who has had family members or friends undergo brain surgery, my heart and warm wishes are with you always.
This is information about my 14 year old Son AJ. AJ is strong, athletic and a kind person. His aspirations as a young man are to become either a police officer or join the military. Such wonderful goals for a young person.
Over the past week, tragedy happened with AJ where he needed to have emergency brain surgery. The technical term is a left decompressive craniectomy with evacuation of his epidural and subdural empyema. He also had an implantation of his craniectomy bone flap in his abdomen.
We live on the beautiful island of Guam and we are so fortunate to have wonderful doctors and nursing staff to help AJ from both our U.S. Naval Hospital Guam and Guam Memorial Hospital where these two facilities have given AJ lifesaving treatment.
AJ continues to be in recovery and he is still hospitalized. As you can imagine, he will need specialized care and treatment as we try and understand his needs.
We have limited resources where we live on Guam and I am asking for any support you can give us.
He will need additional treatment in Guam and in Hawaii or Los Angeles. This will be important for AJ during his recovery. Financially we just do not have the means to do what is needed.
Reaching out to all of you is something new for our family but we are in a crisis situation and our need is immediate.
Any financial support you can provide to help us with travel costs, needed equipment, brain rehab center visits and medical bills is so important to AJ and I cannot thank you enough for any support you can provide.
I will continue to update everyone as we start down the path of healing.
Prayers and hope is helping to keep us strong.
Thank you for your time.
