Emergency Buckets for Classrooms
Donation protected
Due to the recent events in our nation, we are all on edge, trying to figure out ways to protect our children in schools. Suggestions such as stricter gun laws, arming teachers, and placing metal detectors and armed guards in schools have been filling everyone’s news feeds. We all have our own opinion about these ideas but no matter what your opinion is on these matters, they are all going to take time to pass through legislation. I want to do something NOW.
I would like to raise money to create emergency buckets that teachers can keep in their classrooms that would contain items that may be needed during many types of emergency situations. Some items in the bucket would include a first aid kit, energy bars for diabetic students locked away from food, and the bucket can be used as a toilet for extended lock down situations, just to name a few.
Unfortunately, I have been in a multi-hour lockdown. This isn't something that any of us ever wants to experience but thankfully I had my emergency bucket in my room. It certainly took some stress off me during that time. As teachers, we already spend hundreds of dollars a year for everyday school supplies and now we must consider items that should be in our rooms for extra protection of our students. Please help me to be able to provide these items for other teachers. I want to get these into as many classrooms as possible as quickly as possible.
