Emergency Cancer Treatment for Mary Jo Salazar
Donation protected
Many years ago, when I was teaching at Mann Middle School, Mary Jo Salazar was one of my students. She and I formed a bond that has remained strong to this day.
Today, Mary Jo is a single mom with five children. She has worked very hard to provide for them and to bring them up to lead productive lives. Her oldest child, Danyella, is a senior at ATEMS in Abilene. She plans to attend college to become a teacher. All of her children do well in school . All five are beautiful, delightful children.
Recently, Mary Jo has been diagnosed with cancer that has already spread from the original source. Because of this, she has had to take a leave of absence from her job as a caregiver for Daybreak Community Services. She is just now applying for Medicaid because she is only now eligible. Acceptance takes time, which she cannot afford to lose.
Her first appointment with the oncologist is $766, due upon arrival. Treatment will be determined at that time. As we all know, Medicaid will not cover every medical expense that she will incur in her fight for survival. Her living expenses, of course, will continue on.
I am starting this fundraiser today to help save the life of my beautiful friend Mary Jo. Her children desperately need and love their mother, who has always given them everything she could and has loved them so deeply. Any amount that you can give to her would be a tremendous blessing and an outpouring of God's love upon this precious family.
