Urgent, contribute to this humanitarian initiative

My name is Mohanad Fayez Qasim, and I am a 27 year old theatre actor and drama teacher in Gaza.

I’ve participated in many plays and several drama series. I lived my life working towards trying to achieve my many dreams, but all this began to change when my father died in 2015. Everything became more difficult as I began to take on more responsibility, and my many dreams became few. It was then that I decided to focus on one dream, which is "Acting".

‎‏I registered to study a diploma in theatre, to learn everything in this aspect and ‏focus on it. In studying something I love and bringing what money I earned from projects to help my family, I started to love life more and more, and my hopes became great.

Among working on projects in the theatre, my colleague and I became attached and fell in love. We understood each other, and eventually decided to get engaged and start everything with each other. We built every stone in our house together, and we actually started that with all love!

However, all of this was before October 7th. Now I want to tell you about after. My family and I abandoned our house without taking anything from it, and were displaced to Khan Younis to the house of my fiancée’s family. I began collecting the real stories that I saw at the beginning of the war to tell the post-war world, but every day was breaking something inside me, and breaking things from my dreams. They burned my house and then bombed it. They burned my memories, testimonies and achievements, and destroyed the house that we decided to prepare together.

My fiancée and I tried to hold on as best we could and accept what happened, but every day after that, it became harder and harder. Despite being attacked along the way, our families fled again to Rafah. I did not expect that I would make it out of Khan Yunis alive, but after five days, we came out of it miserably, and now we are here in tents, without anything.

‎‏We want to get out of here, to save what is left of our dreams. I want to get out of here to speak about everything I saw in this war and tell my many stories.

‎‏Due to fees being taken to cross the border, evacuating requires $10,000 per person. Once we meet our goal, I hope to help us get out of here to start a life from scratch and build our home from the beginning, because now we don't have anything. We don't want to become just numbers, because we deserve life.

Please help us evacuate to safety and start our lives from scratch!
