Help Stapleford and Sandiacre's flood victims
Donation protected
As some of you are aware we have had a major flood in Stapleford and Sandiacre (Nottingham) on the 20th of October 2023. This has resulted in a large number of people being evacuated from their homes, many made homeless, extensive property damage, loss of pets, loss of sentimental items, clothing, furniture, flooring etc. (A complete wipe out of the entire downstairs.)
The water is currently 3 foot deep and rising quickly with a prediction of 5 foot. As you can imagine the fear and devastation this has caused including mentally. With our lives flipped upside down we now bare the burden to resolve the damage.
I want to raise funds to distribute to the people effected most from the floods and help take some of the pressure off. Even a small amount will all help.
Thank you to everyone so far for all your help and support and especially the fire rescue for providing boats to safety. We will also be donating to the fire service for their rescue services, they worked tirelessly to ensure the community were all safe. We are truly grateful to each and every one of you.
Update: the water has subsided. We can truly see the devastating damage. We have been informed it will take anywhere between 6-12 months for us to be able to return home! The heaters alone are costing £1000 in electric per month. There is structural damage in most properties along with contamination and deemed unsafe. And to add to the traumatic situation homes are now being burgled :( The mental and financial impact is beyond what I honestly can put into words.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far, your kindness really does help. Thank you.
