Emergency Fund for Freddie, Dipita, and Friends

Update from Freddie:

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over these last few weeks! I am extremely happy to announce that Dipita was safely transferred back to Michigan last night (3/23). She will continue her recovery in Detroit and likely be in the ICU for about 3 more weeks. She is progressing a little more everyday!

We will continue fundraising for medical costs and recovery needs. We did recently receive news that insurance will likely not cover Freddie’s hospitalization bill and upcoming appointments due to an auto accident exclusion clause but we are staying positive and thankful for the support!

Thank you again for everything. We would not have been able to afford the air ambulance without the help of our community

On Monday, February 27, University of Michigan graduate students Freddie DeLaRosa, Dipita Das, and their friends were on a spring break trip in Cancún, Mexico when they were involved in a severe car accident. This is a very challenging time for everyone involved, so to help the families alleviate expenses related to travel and medical bills we are asking that people who are willing and able donate to this emergency fund.
