Emergency Fund For Displaced in Deir al-Balah

Our names are Fateama al-Moswai based in Canada and Sara Wilson based in the United States. We will be raising funds for Huda who is currently displaced in Deir Al-Balah and using the donations from this Gofundme to support the community she is sheltering with. (PLEASE NOTE: This GoFundMe was created by Fateama who lives in Canada and all donations are in Canadian dollars which means if you donate $100 we receive approximately $73 USD. Huda is originally from Khan Younis where she shared with her family a beautiful home and clothing business called Al Hoda (Instagram @alhoda2030) that designs and manufactures traditional Palestinian dresses. In the last five months she has lost everything to the bombings. She is currently living in a tent in Deir Al-Balah with her family scared for her life. However, she is focusing all her energy into supporting other displaced Palestinians. Because the aid getting into Gaza is so limited the prices for items have inflated massively, making it impossible for everyone she meets to access basic needs. Huda has said everyone asks for clothing for their children, diapers, and food. At this point we’ve sent two money transfers via Western Union of $700 & $2500 to Huda, who will be the recipient of 100% of the donations from this Gofundme and will be using the money to continue to help her community. Using the money so far she’s been able to purchase blankets, underwear, long underwear, warm baby clothes, diapers, medication, and food for 38 families. The attached photos show what she’s been able to purchase and distribute. We will continue this campaign for as long as donations come in and there is still a demand for support. We know there are non-profits providing for Palestinian refugees but word on the ground is that this support is hard to come by and day-to-day needs are not being met.
