Emergency fund for Kalkanis family
Donation protected
Mahwah, NJ, resident Belina Ang was hit by a pickup truck outside her job in East Rutherford on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Belina suffered severe head trauma, and was brought to Hackensack Meridian Hospital. She was put on life support, but sadly, declared brain dead by the doctors. Belina's husband, Takis, and their daughter and son, Daphne, and George, made the decision to donate some of her organs.
Belina worked very hard in her position in IT Securities, and was a loving wife and mother. Belina was a behind-the-scenes presence in the community, with Mahwah Youth Tennis when her children were younger, and, as her children grew, with Scouts BSA Mahwah Troop 258, and the Mahwah Marching Thunderbirds. Any time assistance was needed, Belina showed up and looked out for all of the students, as if they were her own children. Belina often took vacation from work to help out at the Mahwah Marching Thunderbird Band Camp. She served food and water to keep the students nourished and hydrated as they practiced. On particularly hot days, Belina was seen on the field hosing the kids down to keep them cool!
As Belina is taken off life support, Takis, Daphne, and George will need the love and financial support from their family, friends, and their community. This was a sudden tragedy, and the Kalkanis family will be faced with a mountain of tasks, new processes, and, unfortunately, unexpected bills.
Please take a moment to look through your expenses, and try and donate any funds you can to help Takis, Daphne, and George navigate through the next phase of their life. Any and all assistance is truly appreciated.
Thank you.
