Emergency Fund for Umar

Our dear friend, Umar Sallah, was in a horrible car accident on June 12, 2021. He has sustained serious neck and spinal cord injuries that have resulted in him being paralyzed from the neck down. He is currently in ICU at OSF Medical Center in Peoria IL. He will undergo more surgeries and will eventually be transferred to a rehab facility at Shirley Ryan's  in Chicago IL.

Umar will have to undergo months, possibly years, of rehab in hopes of regaining some use of his arms and legs.

It's going to be a long road for Umar and his family. Umar is a 2020 graduate of Champaign Central high school and is attending Parkland Pathways. Umar has 3 younger siblings, 2 sisters and a brother. His parents have been constantly by his side. In order for Umar to come home, he and his family will need to move to a house more suitable to accommodate Umar’s needs. His expenses will be endless for quite some time and financial help will be extremely appreciated for Umar and his family.  Donations will be directly deposited from this fund into an account Umar's family has set up for Umar's needs.
