Emergency Funds - Single Father with Son.

Hi, and thank you for taking the time to read through this.

I am a father of a 7-year-old boy. We live together, and I take care of him every day while also working.

 

Life has many ways of humbling you.

This isn't for me directly; this is for my son and our home.

 

Things were ok the first 3 months of 2022. Hit a temporary brick wall again.

I have no family to help, nor worth mentioning savings.
I made the grave mistake of putting all my eggs in 1 basket. Never doing that again. 

 

The last couple of years has wreaked havoc in our lives.

The passing of my old landlord, my mother/my son's grandmother, loss of job due to an ongoing court case with x, who essentially kidnapped my son for months, on an interim order, with false statements. I have been in and out of court, on the phones, filling out and submitting forms. It is a long process causing great disturbances in my household, financially and emotionally. Due to all of this and its effect on me, I lost my full-time job last year.

 

My son and I receive zero aid from the other, nor do we get anything from the Canadian Government; 

Meaning: No child support, no child tax credit, no nothing. 

 

Below is a statement from my previous employer. I want to show this further to emphasize the seriousness and legitimacy of this situation. In 2021 they let me go due to the constant disturbances in my schedule and emotional distress everything has caused.

 

 

In order to make all this work, I have to work from home. Can't afford childcare on top of everything else, with zero help from the other part.

 

A babysitter/daycare these days is $900-1200 a month, which is a no-go.

We decided to homeschool my son due to the whole Covid situation and being forced into the homeschooling situation by outside forces.

 

So, dear family, friends and fans: If you know of a gig someone like me could do from home, please don't hesitate to connect with me. At the same time, I keep looking on my end.

 

Resumes are flying out the door almost daily; whenever I find something, my skills and abilities fit.

However, in the meantime, shit is painfully urgent.

 

You can go ahead and judge me all you want. I honestly do not care about your judgement.  It is your character you are exposing, not mine. This situation is draining me for all I am and have. At the same time working hard every single day to keep pushing forward.

 

I have a child; he relies on me. So I have to do what I have to do.
