Emergency Help for Jim Lutton After Home Fire
Donation protected
On Friday, October 13, 2023, longtime Coolidge resident, Jim Lutton, tragically lost everything in a devastating house fire. Thankfully, we were able to get him and his service dog, Yaya, out before they were injured; however, he was unable to take anything with him. He left with the clothes on his back and everything else was completely destroyed. Unfortunately, he did not have renter’s insurance and needs our help to get back on his feet. This is where we come in… Jim is a disabled Veteran and barely made ends meet before the fire. I am asking that as a community we embrace him during this difficult time, as it is our responsibility to lift those who are experiencing a hardship and meet their needs. Especially when it comes to our elders.
We have had an amazing outpouring of generosity from the community to supply him with clothing, toiletries, some furniture and basic supplies needed for him and Yaya. In addition to all of his personal belongings, Jim’s transportation was damaged by the fire, as well, so we are hoping to raise enough to include getting his vehicle repaired and get him back on his feet.
Those of you who know Jim know his kind heart and despite the fact that he struggles to provide for himself, he was still willing to open his home to those in need in the community.
His daughters and our family are grateful beyond words for anything you can do to alleviate some of his stress through this tragedy.
