Emergency Help for Nancy
It truly does take love and compassion to help a stranger and it builds an amazing sense of community. Thank you for reading.
Here is how it all started...I was on Ask Conway's Facebook page when I saw a plea for help for Mrs. Nancy. Apparently, her home was in need of emergency repairs and the community came together to help. We already have several contractors and local business owners giving labor at NO CHARGE to help out. We just need materials at this point.
So why help a perfect stranger?
Mrs. Nancy is an elderly woman who suffered a stroke. She has limited use of her right side. She is in need of help and has a loving caregiver who reached out and asked the community to lend a hand. She has no family available to help. Check it out on Facebook in the Ask Conway Group. (December 26th and December 15th posts)

The community came to the rescue (God bless you all). We have already torn out all carpet, cabinets, sinks, and toilets, which were damaged when a pipe burst and flooded her house. Some of the flooring and subfloor was also damaged by the water and needs to be replaced. We have an amazing plumber who is already donating his labor (Casey). We have an amazing restoration team who dried out the home and tore up the carpet also donating their labor and equipment (Michael and Stephen). We have carpenters (Johnny) who are ready to replace cabinets. We even have a wonderful in home business woman who has put Mrs Nancy up in a hotel during the repairs (Another Nancy, not the woman we are helping).
We need more materials.
We need wood, nails, sheetrock, sheetrock mud, paint, carpet, linoleum, pipes, sinks and toilets. We have had many things already donated. We need two bathroom vanities for the sinks and kitchen cabinets. All were rotted/water damaged beyond repair. We need more hotel money to keep Mrs. Nancy safe and warm while we fix her home.
The goal is to raise $10,000. The church has already helped reimburse some of the materials we have on hand. More is needed. All is greatly appreciated.
Lastly, let me just say that I know the good people who take the time to read this will always do their best. It is just who you are. The real question is always, how much should an individual give? I think that $30 is a great gift to start. If you can't give that much, well every dollar helps. If you can give more, I promise it will all be used or refunded at the end. My absolute promise is that not one penny will be taken by anyone for labor. Yes that is right. The people who are already involved just refuse to be paid for their labor. They are already giving hundreds of dollars in labor and want nothing in return. They see it as a blessing to help others. If you can help, please give. Thank you.
