Emergency help Mexican street dogs

My name is Heather and I rescue dogs in Mexico. My entire life is spent helping street dogs who have no one else. It’s literally life or death for them.

The dog in the photo is Lucia. She was slowly dying in a small village. Today she is getting all the love and care she never had.

Lucia and 38 other dogs are living amazing lives at a sanctuary I built in rural Yucatan, Mexico.

These dogs all come from horrific situations, but we won’t talk about that. Instead I am focused on their future

My rescue is struggling right now. Vet bills and food add up so fast.

So many times I tell myself to slow down. That I can’t afford one more dog. But then I see a confused dog abandoned on a highway or a walking skeleton in a small village.

Most times there is no one else coming to help. I know what will happen if I pass by.

My rescue has also sponsored over 4,500 spay & neuters for homeless and low income pets. It is the only way to break the cycle.
