Emergency Help Through A Severe Accident

Donation protected
Good day to you all. My name is Lauren Barney, and for those of you who are already familiar with me know my significant other, Shane Smyers and our 3 year old daughter, Savannah. I realize how difficult the past year has been for everyone especially now, during this time of year, however I would not be reaching out if the need were not so great. I am humbly asking for help. Shane was recently involved in a motorcycle accident where initially the doctor feared he would in fact lose his left foot. With much prayer, by the Grace of God and the skill of his Dr. between two emergency surgeries, his foot was saved. Our lives have been turned upside down however regardless. His heel is still fractured but will heal on its own. The bones were so shattered and strewn about within the tissue, the Dr literally had to put this mans foot back together one piece at a time, like a puzzle. Along with a myriad of other hardware, 3 metal plates are holding together the metatarsals and staples hold the skin graft together on top. He has no tissue on the top of his foot where a wound vac now covers to assist with the healing process. From medical fees, everyday bills and lawyer fees now, the recovery process is going to be long and hard. All responsibilities at home have now fallen on my shoulders since Shane cannot walk and will be in recovery for a very long time. My car is also down and without transmission so the expression , “When it rains, it pours,” really applies without mercy to our situation. I’m grateful to my father who came out immediately and got me adjusted to driving Shane’s truck which is stick shift, but my Altima is just another necessary expenditure looming over or heads. So yes, reluctantly I am turning to you all for as much help as I can get financially. Anything at all that can be spared will help exponentially and alleviate some of my stress. Your prayers above all are the best form of support. We are blessed as a family, since things could have gone a lot worse and I’m grateful for that. Regardless of what trials and tribulations await us now in the future, I have strength and courage to do what needs to be done, and take things day by day, so anything else you can manage to part with will be an added blessing.. you have no idea. If you took the time to read through all this, I appreciate you. Thank you all for you time, prayers and concern in this matter. I have faith we are being watched over; all will eventually be well and go back to semi-normal…

If you know Shane personally, I kindly beseech you to not bombard him with questions as his recovery is paramount. I’ve been working extremely hard to keep it together and maintain as much peace as I can through all of this.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
