Emergency Hernia Surgery for Travis

Hello friends and neighbors,

If you live or work in downtown Harrisonburg, have come to the back door of The Mark-It, or been outside in a west side neighborhood, chances are you've seen Travis walking with his best friend Torie. He loves exploring the outdoors and getting in as many steps as possible every day. He is most definitely a cuddle bug and is affectionately dubbed the "angel peeg" by those closest to him.

In sad news, Travis has developed a significant perineal hernia that is causing him an immense amount of discomfort. Many less intrusive methods of treatment have helped alleviate some of the symptoms, but are ultimately not curing the ailment or providing lasting relief for Travis. He is in a good deal of pain, and at this point without surgical intervention he risks impacted bowels and an untimely death.

A surgery has been scheduled for April 11, which will be followed by several months of recuperation with limited mobility. It has been very difficult for Torie to see Travis suffering, and she is doing anything and everything she can to help him get better. The amount of this fundraiser will cover the cost of the surgery and medications for surgical recovery. It is admittedly expensive, but is now necessary for Travis to continue to live.
