Emergency Hurricane Relief for San Lorenzo

Hurricane Iota caused extensive damage throughout the municipality of San Lorenzo, Boaco in central Nicaragua, where our family is from.  As we were not directly impacted by the damage, the Obando Solano family has organized a team to purchase and distribute  food, clothing and basic necessities to families who lost their homes and possessions. We are coordinating directly with COMUPRED San Lorenzo, the Committee for Disaster Prevention, Mitigation and Relief in order to distribute aid as quickly and efficiently as possible.

1. Amy Shelton and Marlon Obando Solano, married 16 years
2. We are raising funds for people affected by Hurricane Iota in San Lorenzo, Boaco, Nicaragua
3. The funds will be spent on food, clothing, mattresses, black plastic, personal higeine items. They are being purchased directly because local NGOs are swamped.
4. Funds will be forwarded through Amy and Marlon's bank account. As of 11/19/2020 we have fronted $4000 for aid.
5. The beneficiaries are the people of San Lorenzo, Nicaragua. However, we are sending this money personally to family members to disburse immediately as it the only course of action for the urgent needs.
