Support Eduardo Fano's Lymphoma &Medical Treatment

Hi, my name is Lucia Fano and I'm reaching out for help for my dad's medical care. On July 25th, it was just a normal day spent at the Russian river with family. Until late that night suddenly my dad was shaking uncontrollably with a fever of almost 104. We had no idea what had happened so we rushed him to the ER and found out he was septic. Within 12 hours of being in the hospital, he was undergoing emergency surgery. The doctors found a bacteria in his spleen that spreads rapidly and emits a toxic gas called gas gangrene. They tried removing his spleen but were unable to because it was so inflamed and stuck. They did many tests to figure out how this had happened, but even the doctors were confused. They finally discovered that his stomach and spleen were fused together and there was a tunnel between them. He couldn't eat or drink anything by mouth for 3 weeks, which caused him to lose a lot of weight and become very weak. This was a major shock for our whole family, as my dad was in great shape and very healthy. The surgeons told us that if we had waited even one day to bring him to the ER he would've died. He has been in the hospital ever since fighting for his life. He started at Marin General and three and a half weeks later he was transferred to UCSF where he underwent a second operation performed by a specialist. They were able to remove his spleen and about 15% of his stomach to take out the part that had the hole. They then biopsied his spleen to see what could've caused this and they found Lymphoma, a type of Cancer. He is likely going to undergo chemo therapy. He is very strong but has a long road of recovery ahead of him. Contributions of any amount are deeply appreciated, as all funds will go to paying his medical bills.
